Personality: Allen usually acts with the utmost politeness and respect to everyone, the result of having been schooled to be the perfect gentleman by his adoptive father, Mana Walker, a traveling performer. However, he has moments when his temper can flare, and flare very hotly. Prior to meeting Mana, he'd been an orphan living on the streets, and that street tough persona can come out if you push him enough.

Allen has two hobbies. He can play the piano, which he picked up very easily from Mana – in fact, people who observed the child Allen playing said it seemed almost as if he were channeling the spirit of a dead musician. He’s also a wicked card shark, and when he plays, he can take on almost a devilish appearance and demeanor. Whether he’s just plain lucky or is a grand master at cheating, Allen has never said, but he’s never been known to lose.

Appearance: Allen has a rather unusual appearance. His left arm is red and mottled due to a birth defect – he usually covers it with a black leather glove that goes almost all the way up to his shoulder while working. His eye on the same side is marked with a scar from a childhood accident; he had it modified into a star-shape with a tattoo to at least make it a little more aesthetically pleasing. His hair is white and midway to his shoulders. Allen's fashion sense tends toward the "gentlemanly"; he wears dress shirts with vests a lot, and white gloves to cover his left hand when not working.

History: Allen was born in London, to rather poor parents who both died before he was 10 years old – his mother from disease, his father being murdered in a robbery. He wandered the streets for awhile, living by his wits, until he was taken in by Mana Walker, who gave him an education in both the social graces and the ways of a performer.

The two wandered around Europe for several years, with Mana performing wherever he could. Unfortunately, he ran into several very dry spells, and during that time, he had to borrow heavily from an old friend – Cross Marian, master of the Moulin Noir in Paris.

When Mana died suddenly in an accident, Allen found out about his mountains of debt. He went to Paris and approached Cross about being able to pay them off over time. Cross, liking the unusual look of the boy, told him he’d either have a year to pay it off on his own, or he could work for him until he paid it off. Allen knew he was being set up – there was no way he could make up the amount of money required between card-sharking and performing, and his lack of formal education prevented him from getting a decent-paying “normal” job. He agreed to enter the trainee program at the Moulin Noir, but told Cross he would only work there until Mana’s debts were paid off, and not a moment more.
